DePelchin has served Houston children and families in crisis since the 1890s. With outdated 1930s structures scattered on their 16 acres, staff found it challenging to effectively interact. The non-profit embarked on a 14-month building program to enhance their ability to serve clients.
Brookstone constructed a new 3-story building with two wings – one housing community spaces and the other housing administrative functions — connected by a 2-story lobby. Our team successfully navigated the challenges of building on a campus that has a total vertical site slope of 35 feet. Landscaping features include tranquil gardens, outdoor terraces and a water-like element outside the main lobby, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
