Young families moving to Cypress are drawn to the solid reputation of St. John Lutheran’s 300-student day school and large pre-school. Leaders of this 150-year-old parish, whose campus displays a historical marker commemorating the area’s German settlers, sought a new worship center to coincide with the changing needs of a younger demographic.
Brookstone nestled the new building within a heavily wooded site while maintaining ongoing church and school operations. Oak ceilings, oak and stone floors and expansive glass walls give worshipers the feeling of being outdoors. Platforms used for contemporary worship services have equipment-concealing, sliding doors flanking each side of the chancel.
