Built on the far east boundary of Fort Bend ISD to relieve overcrowding in schools serving Sienna Plantation, Heritage Rose is the district’s largest elementary school building, designed for 1,100 students. Classrooms are clustered by grade level to feel like a smaller campus. All classrooms and the centrally located library have access to natural daylight.
The building’s second level is just for mechanical equipment, providing full-height access to facilitate maintenance. To achieve construction on the greenfield site, which had no existing utilities or infrastructure, Brookstone built a temporary one-half mile road to truck in materials and equipment, used temporary generators and accessed water from a well. Site work included three separate drives for bus loading, visitor parking/auto loading and early childhood/special needs.
